Peterson is joined by his favorite regular band: Herb Ellis (guitar), Ray Brown (bass), and Buddy Rich (drums). Standouts on this record include Peterson’s very own “Blues for Basie” and Basie’s “Blue and Sentimental.” Together, the band’s masterful interplay with one another informs the joy and playfulness of the tracks on this record.
