Twenty-five years after its original release, Diana Krall’s acclaimed 2001 album The Look of Love returns in an expanded anniversary edition featuring five bonus tracks. Produced by Krall’s longtime collaborator Tommy LiPuma, The Look of Love expanded her signature sound with sweeping orchestral arrangements by Claus Ogerman, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. Throughout its collection of ballads and bossa novas, Krall’s intimate vocals and piano playing remain at the heart of the album. A breakthrough both artistically and commercially, the album went Platinum in the U.S., Canada, Australia, France and New Zealand, helping make Krall an international star. It earned three Juno Awards in 2002, including Album of the Year, while engineer Al Schmitt won the Grammy for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. The anniversary edition adds “Maybe You’ll Be There (Alternate Take),” “I Love Being Here With You (Live From the Vault),” “But Not For Me,” “The Man With the Bag” and “Charmed Life.” Most of the bonus tracks make their US debut here, with all five available on CD for the first time in 25 years.
